Editorial Policy
How we create and maintain our guides.
BudgetCalm publishes educational, everyday money-saving guides written and maintained by the BudgetCalm Editorial Team. We are not financial advisers, and our content is general education, not personal financial advice.
Research
Before we publish, we research each topic and base factual claims — prices, averages, inflation figures, benefit rules — on primary and official sources wherever possible (government agencies, national statistics offices, and regulators). When we cite a statistic, we link to its source so you can check it yourself.
Illustrative examples
Many guides include worked examples (“a family of four spending $200 a week…”). These are clearly labelled as illustrations to show how an idea works. They are not promises, and your real numbers will differ.
Editorial review
AI tools may assist with drafting, but every guide is reviewed and edited by a member of the editorial team for accuracy, clarity, and plain language before it goes live. We do not publish unreviewed AI output.
Updates and dates
Money figures date quickly. We review guides periodically and show a “Last updated” date on each one. Time-sensitive figures (energy caps, interest rates, benefit amounts) note the period they refer to.
What we deliberately avoid
We do not give investment, tax, loan, credit, insurance, or crypto advice, and we avoid guaranteed-earnings or get-rich-quick claims.
Corrections
If you spot an error, tell us via the contact page. We take corrections seriously and fix confirmed errors promptly.
